Matthew Ramirez is a loan underwriter at Accessity. He is responsible for reviewing applications and proposing loan structures that support the strengths of a diverse range of borrowers. Matthew has over nine years of experience in the lending industry, including six years at Accion Opportunity Fund, where he worked closely with small businesses across California. He brings a strong, analytical approach to underwriting and a deep understanding of the challenges entrepreneurs face. He joined Accessity in 2026.

Tell us about your background. 

I’ve been actively involved in the real estate industry since 2016, which ultimately led me into the finance world. Over the years, I’ve built a business focused on growth and impact, including setting multiple records and expanding into affordable housing. Currently, my portfolio includes 18 single-family homes and growing, all aligned with my mission to redevelop communities by providing affordable yet high-quality housing options to the broader market.

How do you like to spend your free time? 

I’m 6’5 and a very active person. I dedicate about 40 minutes every day to running 5 miles- it’s non-negotiable for me. Staying active and living a healthy lifestyle is something I truly value.

I’m also a huge bookworm and love anything related to science, philosophy, and physics. But if I had to pick, mindset books are my favorite – Mel Robbins is definitely my go-to author.
